2 Choices For Removing Teeth Stains

Do you wish you could obtain a brighter smile, one you’d be happy to show off to the world? We understand and to help our Keller, TX, patients with stained teeth, we offer two different teeth whitening options. In today’s blog, we’re answering questions about professional teeth whitening.

In-Office Teeth Whitening

In order to brighten teeth in a single visit, we may recommend our in-office procedure. The treatment involves placing a protective covering over the lips and gums. We then add a powerful beaching gel to the teeth. Using a curing light, we activate the bleaching gel and remove the stains from the teeth. The entire visit only takes about one to two hours to complete. You then leave with a brighter smile!

At-Home Teeth Whitening

We also have an option you can use at home, which also addresses more serious cases of discoloration. We create a set of trays based on impressions of your teeth. We then prescribe a bleaching gel. The patient brings these items home, filling the trays with gel and wearing them for between 30 and 45 minutes each day. Total treatment time varies, depending on the cause and extent of the stains. Typically, treatment is somewhere between one week and ten days.

Keep Your Smile Bright

Following treatment, you’ll want your newly brightened smile to stay that way. While stains form over time, you can take steps to make the results last longer. For example, cutting back on sugary foods and rinks, avoiding beverages with dark pigments (like soda, coffee, or tea), and quitting tobacco products, such as cigarettes. You also need to brush your teeth twice a day and floss every night before bed. We also suggest having your teeth cleaned every six months to remove plaque and avoid staining.
